Tourist attractions

Szczecinek is a picturesque city where seven hundred years of history harmoniously blend with contemporary challenges. Set among lakes, moraine hills and beautiful forests, the city is one of the greatest tourist attractions of the Drawskie Lake District. It is simply a city made especially for an active holiday, with great sports facilities and a convenient transport network. Here you will find the world's longest water ski lift, the Regional Tennis Centre, full-size sports halls, a modern football stadium, a complex of indoor swimming pools, professionally prepared Nordic Walking and jogging tracks and excellent sailing conditions, which result in the fact that Szczecinek is often perceived as a Sports Centre of the Pomerania Region. It is a place much appreciated both by competitors who come here for training camps and the organizers of prestigious sports events. And their number in our city is increasing. It is enough to mention the cyclically organized Olympic Hopes competition or the Polish Triathlon Championship, Water Ski European Cup or Polish Modern Pentathlon Championships.

Several years ago, balloon pilots took a liking to the city and now they meet here at the annual International Balloon Festival - Kurt Hummel's Memorial, one of the largest events of such type in our country. Anglers will find here a perfect place to fish, and tourists who do not like fishing will surely appreciate the taste of local pierogi, the beauty of the historic park and the surrounding forests, which are never short of mushrooms.

They can also take a rickshaw ride or travel in a "Bayern" passenger boat to Mysia Wyspa - a favourite place of leisure for the residents of our city. Szczecinek is also a very important place on the cultural map of the Pomerania Region. Everybody can find something for themselves. The city's cultural offer will surely positively surprise the lovers of classical and popular music, jazz and blues, theatre and cabaret, ballroom and modern dance, as well as the enthusiasts of ambitious films, poetry, plain-air sculpture workshops and vernissage. While visiting Szczecinek, you should not also neglect other attractions.

The Szczecinek Land is famous for numerous canoeing trips organized each year on the Gwda, Piława and Płytnica Rivers. The largest in Poland, International Military Vehicle Rally in Borne-Sulinowo and spectacular Eventing Competition in Biały Bór are also organized here. Therefore, if you are heading towards crowded Polish beaches, cursing the speed cameras, traffic jams and wasted time along the way, stop and visit us! It is Szczecinek's time, the Baltic Sea will wait!
